Geogre Gordon noel Bryon was born on January 22, 1788, in Missolonghi, Greece. His father was Captin
"Mad Jack" Byron, and his mother Catherine Gordon, they married primarily because his father was a gold digger and wanted
her annual income. His dad died in 1791 and his mother was left very unstable because of it. Lord Byron was born with a defect
that caused him to walk on the balls and toes of his feet for the rest of his life. He loved riding and swimming which were
the only activites he was able to play. He also as a young child fell in love with his cousin, and was crushed when he had
heard of her engagement. Byron had many affairs with many different women some of the most prevalent are Lady Caroline and
Lady Oxford. He also had a love for his half sister Augusta. In 1798 his granduncle died, and he inherited his title and estate.
This allowed him to attend four years at Harrow, and then finish at Trinity College, Cambridge. In 1807 Byron finally published
his first book of poetry, it was called "Hours of Idleness". Lord Byron lived a very exciting life, and wrote many articles
of poetry. Then in 1824 he suffered a seizure, and caught a severe chill. He died on April 19th, 1824.

Lord Byron is credited with forming his own cult of personailty and the concept known as the "Byronic
hero" which is a defiant, melancholy young man, carrying the weight of some mysterious, unforgivable
sin in his past.
